In light of Governor Romney’s recent attack ad on Governor Huckabee, Huckamania! would like to point out yet another Romney flip flop. Incredible…
“While at the Arkansas Governor’s Mansion for a meeting about health care, Romney demurred when asked whether a presidential race was in his future but had nice things to say about his host.

“Who knows what the future will hold?” Romney said in 2005. “Most likely, we’ll all stay as governors or find other offices, but we need to make sure that we have a strong person who can take the baton from President Bush, and Gov. Huckabee is certainly one of those individuals. He’d make a fine president.”

As a Huckabee supporter and a Mormon, I feel the need to comment on the recent attack made on Huckabee for the things he said about my faith. First of all, I don’t think that Huckabee meant any malice when he asked “Don’t Mormons believe that Jesus and the devil are brothers?”.

I was not offended by the comment and I don’t think any level-headed Mormon should be. I see this as a low-blow attack from Huckabee detractors who are more concerned with bringing Huckabee down rather than seeking to protect the beliefs of Mormons (that would be a first!).

For the record, we do believe that Jesus and Lucifer were spiritual brothers, in the sense that we are all the offspring of God. So that makes us all brothers and sisters, even the fallen angel Lucifer. Yes, Mormons are Christian. Religion should play a part to the extent that we look for a man with values to lead our nation. But the sect of a candidate should not be under this much scrutiny.

My only concern with Huckabee is that he is not validating Mormonism as a Christian religion because it might dissuade his “orthodox” Christian followers who may be ignorant of this fact.

Mr. Huckabee, my vote is for you. All I ask is that you respect my beliefs and recognize them for what they are and not for what a few radical evangelicals purport them to be.

Not in a position to vote for Mike Huckabee but be encouraged that he is the most engaging of them all in this horse-race; and despite his not having the $$$ to get his message out - he is just going do fine.

Those in the “upper-house of his party” may not find his win, welcome, but if there was one who deserves kudos for an interesting race so far– it is Huck! Good look in Iowa!! Will be watching the race to the finish line!
